Milligram is home to the world's best designer stationery, office, and lifestyle accessories. We worked with them on their latest store, located in the historic Dymocks Building on George Street, Sydney.
Stocking leading brands such as Moleskine, Lamy pens and and Kaweco inks, the store design needed to serve a dual purpose; provide the passionate Milligram customer a retail experience that met their expectations, and to also instantly convey to new customers the superior range Milligram offers.
With thousands of SKUs to present, all in various shapes and sizes, from pens to back packs, it was critical to design an optimised, flexible and appealing aesthetic that maximised product sales.
On arrival customers are greeted by a modernised Victorian-arched framework, laden with goods to browse. The framework holds space around a central unit, that is layered with curated ranges of everything from fragrances, books and plant life.
The wall bays support the Victorian-nod with arches harmoniously stretching around the store, framing the products whilst providing visual relief for the customer.
The floor fixtures are a mix of materials and as well as being modular, also enjoy hidden storage compartments.
Milligram is famous for its exclusive ranges of international pen brands. The pen unit, located at the rear of the store, houses the premium pens, and is complete with testing areas at each end, ensuring the sales teams can easily help customers with their purchase decision.
A part of stationery's appeal to its hoards of fans is the orderly nature it inspires. The attention to detail in the design of the pen displays and ink units is millimetre perfect, resulting in amplifying the sense of calm.
